Circumcisions
Overview
Typically, circumcisions are performed in the hospital a day or two after birth. However, Dr. Palfreeman offers in-office circumcisions for newborns soon after they are discharged from the hospital. He understands this is a very personal choice and supports parents in whatever they decide. He will answer all your questions and ensure you feel comfortable with the procedure. When a circumcision is elected, Dr. Palfreeman seeks to create an experience that minimizes stress for the baby and caregivers.
Procedure
Though there are a few different types of circumcisions, Dr. Palfreeman utilizes the Plastibell Method. He feels this method provides great cosmetics outcomes as well as reduces risk of complications such as post-procedure bleeding. Meticulous care is taken to make sure your baby is as comfortable as possible.
Aftercare
Caring for your newborn’s circumcision is important to ensure a good outcome, and the Plastibell Method helps make this easier for parents. Dr. Palfreeman will walk you through aftercare and make sure you feel confident in caring for your baby at home.
