Our Office Policies
Immunization and
Antibiotics Policy
Immunizations save lives. At Wildwood Pediatrics, we know that choosing to vaccinate is a deeply personal decision. We require all patients to adhere to the immunization schedule recommended by the CDC, except in rare instances of medical contraindications to an immunization. We welcome the discussion of all concerns, and we want parents to feel heard, informed, and comfortable with any decision. We ultimately believe that vaccines are safe and effective in preventing deadly and debilitating diseases. Furthermore, we also have a duty to protect our community and patients who are unable to receive certain vaccines (either due to young age or due to being immunocompromised, etc). Patient families who do not intend to vaccinate will need to find a different pediatrician.
Antibiotics must be used responsibly. We strongly believe in using antibiotics responsibly, and endeavor to only use them when a bacterial infection is present. We do not prescribe them without thorough examination and any necessary testing. Antibiotics do not help in instances of viral infections, and may cause unintended side effects when overused or used inappropriately.
Late and No-Show Policy
We value your time. We understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes delays happen. To ensure timely care for all our patients, we ask that you arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. If you are running late, please call our office as soon as possible. Patients arriving more than 10 minutes late may need to be rescheduled, depending on our availability. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a smooth schedule and provide timely care for all patients.
Cancellations happen. We request 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. If you do not call and you do not show up for your appointment, we will consider this a “no-show.” After three no-shows, the office may need to terminate the doctor-patient relationship. This policy helps us manage our schedule efficiently and allows other patients to use the time.
Financial Policy
All payments are due at the time of service. This includes co-pays and deductibles. Please contact your insurance company to determine if our practice has a contract with your insurance company. If we are in-network providers for your insurance, we will bill your insurance and collect only the known patient responsibility amount at the time of service. Full patient responsibility may not be known until after services are performed and the claim is processed by insurance. These will be billed to you afterward. If you experience circumstances beyond your control, please contact our billing office and we will be happy to make payment arrangements.
We are a cashless office. We accept debit and credit cards, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
Well Visit Policy
A well visit is a preventive health visit that includes a physical examination, growth and development check, and administration of recommended vaccines, without additional concerns. There may be a patient responsibility (copay/deductible/coinsurance) for screenings or additional services provided. Please note that it is your responsibility to check insurance benefits and eligibility, including visit timing since preventive care services may be subject to plan-specific frequency limitations or benefit maximums and our office does not always have this information.
If a concern is discussed or identified during a routine well visit, an additional office visit charge may be billed afterward, according to insurance rules. Your copay, deductible, and coinsurance may apply for visits where both preventive and problem-based services are provided at the same time. We will collect known copays at the time of service, but we will not know the final patient responsibility until a claim has been processed by insurance. If your child’s concerns require more time than can be appropriately addressed during a well visit, your provider may recommend scheduling a separate appointment to give your child the thorough care they deserve.
